Having Mr.Junichi Nishizawa as the first president who was known in the field of electronics, the university has proactively foucused on industry-academia-government collaboration especially for computer science. In the near future, more collaborative work with industry in the field of information and communication technology is expected. |

It plays a role as the center of academic culture in Iwate to distribute the high-tech research results to the world, and also open to the local society as the center of the industy-academia-government collaboration. The university offers various research facilities in each faculty such as the Center of Information Media and the Center for Regional Collaboration in Research and Education. |
